Description
Antique postcard
Golden age, circa early 1900's
Divided back
Raphael Tuck & Sons, publishers
Artwork by William Henry Ellam - Signed ELLAM
Teddy bears at play.
Some bears are better at jumping rope than others!
English artist William Henry Ellam put all sorts of animals, like giraffes, frogs, and elephants in human situations, like his silly series for Tuck showing animal couples having “Breakfast in Bed” and his Tuck novelty puzzle series. He is also known for his seaside scenes and womens sufferage cards.
