This card series has perforations around each bird so the wings can be bent forward, giving them a flying appearance. 
 Goldfinch - " The Goldfinch is also called the Thistlefinch as it is often found where thistles grow. It is an exceedingly handsome bird with a loud sweet song. "
 Chaffinch -  " The Chaffinch is one of our commonest birds, he is a pretty fellow, and builds a remarkably beautiful nest. " 
 Blue Tit - " The Blue Tit is a dainty little bird and is met with more frequently than any other of the Tit family. "


About the artist
Sophia May Bowley, an English Illustrator and postcard designer who, with her sister Ada Leonora Bowley, lived and worked together all of their life, primarily as designers for Raphael Tuck. Ada signed her works A.L. Bowley while Sophia signed hers using just her middle inital.
