Description
Vintage art / scenic post card
Circa early 20th century
Divided back, golden age (1907 - 1915)
RT&S Publishers, UK
A romantic scene with colorful sky and gondolas upon lit water. Great painters like Canaletto, Turner, Monet, Guardi, Whistler, Kokoschka, fascinated by the light effects on water and architectures, immortalized it in many famous paintings. There's nothing quite like the Grand Canal and, especially at sunset, the magic is still intact.
