The Citadel, also called Citadelle-de-Québec is the oldest military building in Canada, and forms part of the fortifications of Québec City. This great stone 19th-century fortress is located on Cap Diamant (Cape Diamond) in the centre of Québec City, with its back along the cliff above the St. Lawrence River, facing the city.
