Postcards have been popular collectibles for over a century because of the wide range of subjects, with just about every subject imaginable being at some time portrayed on a postcard. History itself can be tracked on postcards: historical places, significant and famous people, works of art, festivals and holidays, the grandeur of nature's wonders, and even family photos. Old postcards, no matter their value, offer a glimpse into the past. Whether your collection is big or small, you'll find that its value encompasses more than just the money a collector would pay for it. Everyone who has ever received a postcard knows that feeling and the joy that postcard can bring. The joy of opening the mailbox and finding a new card in it is what makes this hobby exciting after all these years. My favorite postcards are those sent to me personally by friends, family and other collectors.
This is a work in progress. I've been saying I'd make one of these for a while; however being a professional article writer any type of article writing feels like a 4-letter word to my brain and therefore automatically gets ignored in favor of more frivolous pursuits!
